HAFNER, Barbara Ann – of Albee Twp, died Monday, April 15, 2024, at Covenant Health Care in Saginaw. She was 87 years of age.
Barbara was born to the late James and Wilma (Birchmeier) Corrin on July 15, 1936, in New Haven Twp. Barbara attended Hurd school and graduated from Chesaning Union High School in the Class of 1955. She was united in marriage to Kenneth W. Hafner on November 10, 1956, in Owosso and they lived and worked on the Hafner family farm.
Barbara was a well-known AVON representative since 1977. She enjoyed reading, traveling, volunteering, and playing cards, but most of all, she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially at the holidays’ card games. She was a member of Albee St. Mary’s Church and the League of Catholic Women. She was a member of the Prairie Chicks and various neighborhood card clubs.
She is survived by her children, Pamela (Scott) Dowd of Holland, Patrice Rountree of Coppell, TX, and Michael (Tammy) Hafner and Timothy (Gloria) Hafner, all of Chesaning; grandchildren: Jason, Travis, Hayden (Kim), Steven (Katie), Jarrett (Maddie), Nicole, Alyssa, Tara and Jamison; great grandchildren: Peyton, Mallory, Colt, Kent, and Kendall; brother, Doug (Kathy) Corrin of Chesaning; sister-in-law, Karen Corrin of Corunna; nieces, nephews, and other relatives. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 63 years, Ken, on November 15, 2019; two infant daughters in 1959 and 1964; two grandsons, Aaron Hunt in 2006, and Kyle Rountree in 2009; and three brothers, James Corrin Jr. on December 9, 2014, Frank Corrin on March 19, 2020, and Robert Corrin on November 14, 2020
Her Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2024, at St. Mary’s Church in Albee with Fr. Robert Byrne celebrating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Visitation Thursday will be at the Misiuk Funeral Home in Chesaning from 2-8 p.m. with a Rosary Service being prayed by the Knights of Columbus at 7:45 p,m. Visitation Friday will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of mass at 11 a.m.
Charitable donations may be given in memory of Barbara to St. Mary’s Church in Albee, St. Mary’s Cemetery in Albee, CAER Center, Manna from Heaven, or the Meiser Adult Foster Care Home Assisted Living in Montrose. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
